Lately, I have found myself having difficulty taking the stairs or walking up a slope. I am so out of shape and have realized that its high time I do something about it. I joined the #runtofeel challenge on my RunKeeper app, and I have to run 25 miles this July. I have already run 6.5 miles (approx. 26%), and I feel I can crush this challenge since there is still plenty of time until July comes to an end. My goal is to lose at least 5 pounds, and so far, I have already lost 2 pounds.
I also work out using HasFit. I love their channel on YouTube, and I have done a lot of their workouts already. YouTube workouts are an affordable way to get fit since they are free. They also have an app where you can get meal and work out plans, and some of them are free.
However, running and working out is half the battle. I also have to eat well, and I am trying to pack in as many vegetables as I can in every meal. I am also doing intermittent fasting and limiting the amount of food I eat per meal. Today I will share with you one of my favorite green smoothie recipes, packed with healthy vegetables, sugars, and fats.
1 handful of spinach or kale
½ of an apple
½ of an avocado
1 cup of coconut water (or water)
1 cube of ice (optional)
Blend on the smoothie setting.
I have never liked the taste of vegetables that much, especially after growing up eating kale at least 2 times a day. I have to push myself to get my daily vegetable servings in and this smoothie helps me do just that. I hope this recipe will inspire you to make all kinds of smoothies filled with your favorite vegetables.
