LoveShackFancy for Target

This summer, Target collaborated with LoveShackFancy, and the pieces are gorgeous. I have always loved LoveShackFancy clothing, but I swear graduate students are not their target market. So, I have and will admire their dresses from afar. However, their collaboration with Target brought pieces that are within an affordable price range, enough for me to get a few pieces. The collection launched online on June 6, 2020, and will be available in select stores on June 15. I completely forgot about the online launch until about midday when one of my favorite bloggers and YouTubers posted about her troubles trying to buy the collection online. She could not find the 'add to cart' button when buying in the UK. I raced to my computer and logged onto my target account, only to find most of the dresses sold out in my size. I managed to get five dresses, and they did not take much time to get delivered. I will briefly go through the dresses one by one and let you know of my honest thoughts on the quality and fit.

Women's Cosette Smocked Puff Sleeve Dress: This dress is made of 100% cotton, and I loved that it breathes and therefore is perfect for summer. The design is cute, and the dress is lightweight. The lace details in between the horizontal panels of the dress are absolutely gorgeous. The bodice part of the dress is smocked, which I thought would work well for me since I have a bigger chest. However, the top part of this dress was unflattering on me. It would look gorgeous on someone with a smaller chest, so the smocking does not stretch out too much a. Also, the neckline is not elasticated, so you cannot do a drop shoulder, which would work great with the smocked bodice. One size larger would have been too big for me, and I had to send it back.

Women's Talulah Pintuck Yoke Dress: This white and short dress is lovely, and the Victorian era-inspired chest and neck lace details are so beautiful. The lace on the sleeves just adds an additional feature that lifts it up without it being too busy. I am keeping this dress, and I will wear it as a tunic since it is too short for me. However, I think most people can easily pull it off since it is such a cute mini dress perfect for the spring and summer. Also, it will most likely not go out of style and can be a wardrobe staple for a long time. First thing on Monday, I am going to check my local target to try and get the longer version of this dress, and it would work so well with some cute, brightly colored sandals.

Women's Simone Smocked Dress: This peach dress with the most beautiful flowers is one that I desperately need to get come June 15. I want it so I can wear it at home on weekends when I am running errands or going to the beach this summer. It is made of cotton with the lovely crochet lace at the edge of each tier on the lower skirt part of the dress. You can also drop the sleeves to turn it into an off the shoulder dress. Since it is very long and full on the lower parts, I am going to wear it off the shoulder to reveal some skin so I do not drown in fabric. I would recommend it to anyone who is into this type of dress.

Women's Elise Smocked Tiered Dress: When I got this dress, I was in such a hurry to check out, and I failed to notice the yellow belt, which I do not think perfectly suits the dress. The fabric was the main deciding factor for me to return the dress. It was a satin-like shiny fabric that does not stretch, let alone breath; therefore, I had to send it back. It is also important to note that it runs large. This dress, although somewhat whimsical and pretty looking online, it disappointed me in person.

Women's Fleur Dress: This dress was the best out of for all the five dresses I got. It is elegant and would work so well for a summer wedding or day party with some beautiful strappy heels. The frill on the lower part of the dress is just the icing on the cake. You can also rock this dress with a straw hat for a day at the botanical gardens and take some cute pictures for the gram.
